Chapter 99 - 135 - Foundation of Thallasar
Chapter 99 - 135 - Foundation of Thallasar
A sacred thread weaves through the tapestry of life, nurturing existence and quenching the thirst of all living beings in this world — Water.
It flows as the elixir of vitality, sustaining the essence of life itself, offering renewal, cleansing, and the whispers of ancient wisdom.
Until it reveals its second nature — Annihilation.
Its destructive nature far surpasses the threshold of one’s imagination, flattening mountains, tearing through them only to create its path, and breaking the visage of this puny world.
An element possessing both life and death in its hands, when it becomes a part of intellectual beings, it becomes the strongest strength in existence, once again proving:
Nothing is softer or more flexible than water... yet NOTHING can resist it
When quenching our thirst, it becomes the elixir of life, a blessing bestowed upon us by nature.
However, when nature needs to quench its thirst, things become slightly complicated...
Just like nature, which controlled this element, a race existed in this world that had complete authority over this force — the Cratens.
The true value of a tool can only be decided by its user’s skills.
Similarly, this world came to know about the true destructive potential of seemingly calm and life-giving Water when it fell into the hands of the Cratens.
As controllers of a seemingly harmless element, Cratens had something far valuable enough to make others Greedy, and end result...
Humans, sticking to their usual characteristics, waged wars against them, creating havoc that became the foundation of Thallassar — The Kingdom of Cratens.
A war doesn’t only decide the winner, but it also changes the people’s perspectives involved in the war.
Human’s aggressive actions caused the whole race to suffer a loss that couldn’t be filled in any upcoming era — the loss of demi-Human’s trust.
Among humans existed a kind with different features, varying with tails and ears like different animals.
Still, they were never looked down upon by humans.
Demi-Humans showed complete trust in them, always ready to fight till death for them, but of course, they had some ideals too.
They preferred a peaceful life and living in harmony, making them the least hated race among all the existing ones.
Demi-Humans had very good relations with the humans, and other races, but especially with the Cratens due to their natures aligning with each other — Peaceful and Calm.
Things seemed very peaceful in that era.
Every kind was living together in a single place called Human Realm — there was no division among kingdoms.
However, everything fell like a castle of cards when humans waged war against the Cratens.
Demi-Humans, knowing well the result of this conflict would be devastating, sided with the Cratens, accompanied by the Demi-Queen herself.
The battle’s outcome was decided the moment, the Demi-Queen participated in it.
But the results were beyond everyone’s expectations.
No one believed that the foundation of Thalassar would be established on the corpse of the Demi-Queen.
The world witnessed a tragedy that shattered the meaning of true friendship and belief that Demi-Humans held inside them.
Their most trusted ally, one of the pillars balancing their relations with other kinds and a true comrade of the Demi-Queen, poisoned her.
If it were some normal poison, maybe the Queen would have survived.
However, the betrayal that had befallen her by the hands of an Archmage was just too much to withstand the corrosion of poison.
In order to win the battle, Archmage Riannel Aintain cowardly poisoned Queen Celestia, causing her mana veins to burst the moment she cast twelfth-tier spell.
He then backstabbed her, piercing his wand through her heart, which held nothing but mercy for her kind.
That scene was still vivid in the memories of all Demi-Humans who now were living inside Chrintain Valley — A place of banishment for Unfitting individuals like them.
The end result of all this, Cratens choosed to distance themselves from a race that was nothing but full of selfishness — Humans
Moreover, humans, not content with that alone, tried to form an alliance with Cratens.
Witnessing how Cratens had used seemingly harmless water as destructive weapon, they tried to again take advantage of things— once again proving their shrewdness.
Cratens, who had already lost half of their kind, had no other choice but to accept this alliance.
However, they also put forth their final declaration — an oath of destruction.
—⟨ The Moment Riannel Aintain placed his foot inside Thallasar, There will be a war and an unending one, that will consume the whole Human Realm ⟩—
This was also the reason why, in any of his reincarnations, Adriannel Riantain never ventured into that calm ocean that could have become an enormous wave devouring the whole realm.
It showcased the hatred Cratens held for him; they abhorred the name Riannel Aintain, who showed his cowardice by betraying the most noble figure.
Cratens established the kingdom known as Thallasar and divided it into five divisions.
Although Thallasar’s size could have warranted it being called an empire, the unity of this race led them to continue referring to it as a kingdom.
These five divisions were created based on the ideals of Theocracy and their belief in the religion known as Aquatoria.
Cratens believed fervently in the Goddess Aqua and her principles, which consistently propelled their civilization forward.
With their past relationships with humans, they maintained a guarded approach.
The ideals of Aquatoria shaped the functioning of the Kingdom, dividing it into five parts mirroring their beliefs about the Goddess’s representation in five forms: Fluid Form, Ice Form, Vapour Form, Life Form, and the Cratens themselves.
They didn’t perceive themselves as masters controlling the water element; rather, they considered themselves an integral part of it, capable of feeling its flow and communicating with water—a sentiment popular among them.
At the heart of the Vast Ocean stood the Capital City of Thalassar, surrounded by five Divisions, each of considerable size, rivaling the entire Vendal Kingdom.
Within one of the Divisions, belonging to an Admiral, stood a grand mansion exuding a heavenly allure, tinted with shades of blue accentuated by the moonlight reflected off the ocean’s surface.
In one of the spacious rooms, a young woman lay on the bed, sleeping peacefully until her eyes suddenly snapped open.
Wide-eyed, she surveyed the room before her hand instinctively reached for her eyes, covering her vision, evoking a wave of nostalgia.
"I just want to rest in this life,"
Estelle’s voice softly, resonating in the serene and tranquil room, while the moonlight effortlessly pierced through the window — due to the water’s lower density, gently illuminating the space.
knock knock
"Maybe not," Estelle sighed upon hearing the knock on the door, understanding that the same events were about to unfold again.
From her rejection of joining the Academy to her father’s decision to send her for further education, she felt helpless, unable to express her opinion due to the restrictions imposed by this world’s will — a force that always kept her like a puppet
In line with the plot of her previous life, she couldn’t alter significant events, including her attendance at the Academy.
She knew she would once again face Alisia Quintain, and the same plot would repeat itself.
"Sigh... Come in," she uttered, slowly removing her hands from her eyes, sitting up as she noticed a 5-year-old boy standing at the door.
"Um... S-sister, Father is calling y-you," the boy’s voice faltered as he avoided her gaze, afraid of the young woman who used to tease him for being weak.
A small smile graced Estelle’s face, seeing her dear little brother behaving as usual—not the grown man who had sacrificed his life protecting her.
"Oh my, isn’t this my puny ant?" Estelle teased, causing the little boy to tremble in fear, failing to recognize her teasing yet affectionate tone, instilled by the fear he had carried from an early age.
"Wh-what, Sister, wait?!" Noah exclaimed, feeling himself being lifted by Estelle’s arms. His eyes widened as he faced the woman smiling brightly, adopting a playful stance that Noah had encountered from many people but never from her.
"Sniff...sniff... Waaahhhh... Help me!" Noah cried out.
BANG!
"Noah, are you alright?" A man swung open the door, only to witness Estelle comforting the sobbing child, whose small hand attempted to prevent her from planting a kiss on his cheek.
"This?" He was bewildered, witnessing something beyond his imagination. "Estelle, is everything alright?"
Estelle turned towards the man standing in the doorway, offering him a warm smile. "Of course, Uncle Morgan, everything is fine."
Seeing her smile, Morgan felt a wave of relief, but then noticed her shaking her head.
Scratch~
"Ouch"
"N-no, I am sorry, si-sister," Noah stammered, feeling his nails accidentally scratching his elder sister’s face, his heart stopping in fear.
"It hurts, you see, Noah. Owie," Estelle groaned softly, feigning pain as she bent down, leaving the boy sitting on the floor. She folded her legs, burying her face inside her crossed arms.
GASP
Noah’s eyes widened as he saw his strong sister shedding tears due to his mistake. Swiftly, he wrapped his arms around her. "Sister, please don’t cry. I’m sorry, sniff..."
Witnessing this scene unfold before him, Morgan’s eyes remained fixed, unblinking, observing these siblings.
’ She is a good actor, just like her Aunt’
