Chapter 113: The Past Of Two Girls [TRIGGER WARNING!]

Chapter 113: The Past Of Two Girls [TRIGGER WARNING!]

A young Rachel, approximately in her early twenties, was sprawled on her bed pressing her phone like anyone her age.

She giggled and laughed at the texts she got. Rachel was a normal girl who was so consumed by her world that she didn’t know what else was going on outside of it.

"RACHEL!" A voice called out behind the door but the lady couldn’t hear anything due to the headphones around her ears blasting music to the max.

This was her daily routine but her door soon swung open like a S.W.A.T team was about to raid her but it was just her mom.

Rachel turned around, she knew someone had entered thanks to her peripheral vision.

Rachel jumped up because she was startled, yanking off the headphones.

"MOM! WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT BARGING INTO MY ROOM!?" Rachel was livid and this was partly because her heart was about to jump out of her chest.

"I pay the bills around here, you shouldn’t even have a door," Her mother said.

Rachel took a deep breath because she didn’t want to speak out of order.

She had to control herself but she noticed her mother was all dressed up.

"Where are you headed? It is already dark outside," Rachel asked, getting up from her bed to sit at the edge.

"Jake is taking me out," The mother responded with a sly grin.

She wore a black dress that brought out her figure, she had a good figure despite having two kids.

"Jake... I don’t like him," Rachel responded, putting her phone down.

"You don’t like any men I bring home," The mother responded, dismissing her daughter’s concern.

Ever since the death of her husband, Mrs. Forbes has been dating around but she never stayed long enough to establish any real connection with these men.

She wasn’t looking to remarry as she wasn’t suffering financially but she did need companionship that could only come from a man.

Jake, however, has been with her for a couple of months, this was the longest time that anyone has stayed.

Rachel didn’t like that their mother was exposing Lillian to this, it would leave a terrible impression on her as she was too young to comprehend what was going on.

"Mom... Lillian shouldn’t be seeing this, she will have the wrong impression growing up," Rachel said.

"Lillian? I sent her to a boarding school so she wouldn’t be exposed to this," Mrs Forbes responded.

"Lillian is returning today and you have to keep it under wraps Mom. You can’t keep exposing her to different men," Rachel said.

"I didn’t come for a lecture here, Rachel. I came to tell you that I’m going out and there is food in the freezer if you’re hungry," Mrs. Forbes said before exiting her room and then house.

Rachel gritted, she couldn’t believe her mother was still acting like a teenager.

She had to be more responsible but Rachel returned to pressing her phone.

Her sister was already on her way back, their mother’s car had broken down so she couldn’t come pick her up but the public transportation came in clutch.

The doorbell rang soon after, and Rachel ran to the door because she was expecting Lillian.

Rachel was supposed to go get Lillian but she had forgotten, time went by fast and then she got the call from Lillian that she was on her way already.

Rachel opened the door and it was Lillian but there was something in her eyes.

It looked dead, Rachel didn’t know what happened but Lillian’s entire aura was off.

"Are you okay?" Rachel asked, Lillian was always so excited when she came back home to them but now, she was anything but excited.

"Hey sister, I’m just tired," Lillian responded with a forced smile, a smile that did well to fool Rachel.

Rachel didn’t think anything of this and allowed Lillian to go to her room without further conversation.

She went to the freezer and warmed the food their mother had cooked for her younger sister.

There was no doubt that Lillian would be hungry so she did just that, she warmed the food and kept it on the table.

"Lillian, there is food on the table when you’re hungry!" Rachel shouted but she got no verbal response.

"She’s probably sleeping," Rachel thought, heading back to her room to keep using her phone.

The night passed and a new day was welcomed with the emergence of the sun.

Rachel woke up and she went outside her room, their mother had returned for the night because she could smell booze but she noticed that the food she had warmed for Lillian was still on the table.

"Huh?" She thought to herself as she marched to her younger sister’s room.

It was early in the morning and everyone was still sleeping but Rachel.

She didn’t knock, she tried to open the door but it was locked from the inside, another thing out of place.

Lillian never locked her door because she had a phobia of something happening to her and no one being able to reach her.

This told Rachel one thing, something happened to Lillian.

"Hey, Lillian! Open up!" Rachel said desperately but she had thought ahead.

She had an extra key to the door for emergencies, she retrieved the key from her room and opened the door.

She rushed in to see her sister on the bed, she was passed out and Rachel heaved a sigh of relief.

She stared at her sister and noticed a faint mark on her exposed wrist.

This sent Rachel into panic mode and she took a step forward only to step on something.

Rachel looked down to see what it was and it was an empty bottle of pills.

"Lillian!? Wake the fuck up, Lillian!" Rachel shouted, she said as she rushed to the side of her bed but Lillian was motionless. Rachel wasn’t even sure if she was breathing.

She checked her pulse and realized that she wasn’t breathing.

Rachel was paranoid, she didn’t even know what to do at this moment but she had to think fast.

She dragged Lillian into the bathroom where she stripped her naked but what Rachel saw horrified her. Lillian was covered in scars and wounds, these were bruises that had scarred even.

"What the fuck?" Rachel blurted out but she didn’t have time, time wasn’t on her side.

She didn’t know when she took the pills and the ambulance would get here too late.

She dumped her body in the bathtub and ran the shower over her head.

Rachel applied the CPR method in a bid to revive her.

"Wake up! Please wake up Lillian!" Rachel begged.

"Lillian!? What the fuck is happening here?" Mrs Forbes screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Call 911!" Rachel screamed and her mother ran to the phone.

"Wake up baby! You can’t do this to me!" Rachel begged, she couldn’t control her emotions.

Tears streamed down her face as she begged for her baby sister to wake up.

She continued to press her chest but Lillian was unresponsive.

"911? Yes! It’s my baby! She’s not breathing!" Mrs Forbes sobbed on the phone.

Rachel didn’t give up, even if there was a 0.000000001% of her waking up.

Rachel kept on with the CPR for a good ten minutes and just when it seemed like all hope was lost.

Lillian coughed, struggling for oxygen, this sign of life was the single thing that made Rachel believe in a God.

She embraced Lillian, she had no idea what it was but her sister had just attempted suicide.

This was something that she never thought would happen in a million years but those scars...

There was no telling what she was being subjected to in that school but the fact that she didn’t talk to her older sister about it and chose to end her life.

Rachel could only imagine the damage it was doing to her mental health.

Lillian was still in a dazed state, barely able to formulate words and this was when Rachel stuck her finger down her younger sister’s throat in hopes that she would throw up the pills.

Even if she couldn’t make her throw up everything, she should be able to make her throw up a fair amount, just enough to remove her sister from danger.

Lillian threw up the pills and Rachel was relieved that her sister was responding because if those pills remained in her system, there was no telling what damage it could do.

This was quick thinking from Rachel and what ultimately saved her sister’s life.

The ambulance arrived shortly after, and Lillian was taken to the hospital but no one knew what happened to her.

However, they were relieved that she was okay even though Rachel couldn’t help but blame herself. If she had been a better sister or more involved in Lillian’s life.

Maybe none of this would have happened, these were the thoughts that plagued her as she sat beside her unconscious sister in the hospital.
