Chapter 11 Sally's Treasure Hunt
Chapter 11 Sally's Treasure Hunt
Chris looked at Leo with envy and said, "With the points from the Magic Hand, a year's tuition isn't far off. This is just too enviable!"
Jasmine looked at Leo with envy.
Everyone present, except for Leo, including Sally, was shocked by this.
Leo's mental cultivation speed was completely beyond Sally's expectations, leading her to consider a possibility.
Sally said, "Danville, if you have enough magic stones, you can try to do a second assessment of your mental talent."
"Some young wizards experience a significant boost in their mental abilities in a short period after being exposed to meditation. I think you may very well have this kind of talent."
"A higher level of mental talent also means you can receive better treatment and recognition. You can also get higher evaluation scores."
"Yes, Wizard Sally." Leo nodded. He hadn't expected such an exception to exist in the wizarding world. But that was fine too; now he didn't need to hide the fact that his mental strength was improving much faster than he had tested his talent.
Leo asked curiously, "Witch Sally, how many magic stones are needed for a second assessment of mental talent?"
"One thousand magic stones."
Upon hearing the price Sally quoted, Leo couldn't help but frown.
I didn't expect that this second appraisal would require so many magic stones.
That's equivalent to ten years' worth of tuition fees.
Seeing Leo's expression, Sally knew what he was thinking and reminded him, "Danville, although a thousand magic stones is a lot of money, having a higher level of mental strength will give you a higher score in the evaluation, which is enough to make up for and surpass it."
"A high level of mental talent is beneficial for becoming a graduate student, teaching assistant, or even a mentor in the future."
Upon hearing this, Leo said, "I understand, Lady Sally the Wizard."
Sally glanced at Leo and the other two, feeling a mix of emotions.
Although only five people were admitted this year, and two of them dropped out, the remaining three are all quite capable. One of them is in the top ten, and another is in the top one hundred. Although Jasmine's ranking is not high, considering her level 2 mental strength talent, this ranking is not at the bottom and is considered average.
Especially Leo, whose level is among the best in all previous editions.
Sally had initially thought that this year's teaching assistants would suffer a major setback.
Unexpectedly, Leo suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
This also made Sally look at Leo with a hint of joy, as this was all thanks to her teaching assistant's achievements.
Sally said, "Danville, Chris, Molly, when you first start practicing beginner meditation, your mental energy will increase significantly. However, as time goes on, the speed of your progress will gradually decrease. Don't be proud of your current achievements, but don't be discouraged either. Keep up the good work."
Sally made some polite remarks before saying, "Next is the test of the Magic Hand."
"Danville...Chris, you go first."
Sally originally wanted Leo to go first, but considering Leo's talent in spell construction, she changed her mind and decided to let Chris go first.
She was worried that if Leo arrived first, it might affect Chris and the other two's performance.
Chris stepped forward and began to demonstrate his magical hand.
Compared to the first day, Chris's harpoon was already taking shape.
It's not limp either.
Chris, 20 points
Chris shrugged.
He had to admit that he had only average talent in spell construction.
"Next, Jasmine."
Jasmine stretched out her hands, and a blue-white gem appeared in her palms.
Compared to Chris, Jasmine's Magic Hand is already quite well-made.
"Jasmine, 25 points."
Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief.
Lacking talent in mental abilities, she can only pursue scholarships from other avenues if she wants to become a wizard.
"Last one is Leo."
Sally, Chris, Molly... even Tesla, who had been sitting on the sidelines indifferent to the test, looked towards Leo.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, Leo began the test.
A longsword appeared in Leo's hand.
This longsword is no longer a plain one; it has special runes on it and a unique design.
Then, Leo's test results appeared on the crystal ball.
Leo Danville, 40 points.
Leo's eyes flickered slightly.
40 points for Magic Hand and 70 points for Spiritual Energy, which is enough to cover a year's tuition with some left over.
Chris's eyes widened.
Jasmine's small mouth was slightly open.
Tesla raised an eyebrow.
Sally was even more flustered, slamming her hand on the table and excitedly exclaiming, "Great!"
40 points was higher than Sally had expected.
Even newly promoted wizard apprentices are few who can match Leo in wielding the Magic Hand.
Chris asked curiously, "Witch Jasmine, where does Leo's test rank in the rankings?"
Sally said, "If we're talking about all the previous years, this level would probably rank in the top five."
A scholarship of 40 magic stones!
Top five level!
Leo couldn't help but get excited.
"The rankings are out," said Sally the Wizard.
Immediately, the crystal ball began to display the rankings of Leo and the other two in this test.
"Chris, Magic Hand spell ranking, 921"
Chris said, "That's low."
"Jasmine, ranked 78th in the Magic Hand spell ranking."
Jasmine was very excited when she saw the ranking.
She never expected to make it into the top 100.
"Danville, ranked 3rd in the Magic Hand spell rankings."
Just as Sally predicted, Leo made it into the top five.
And he came in third place!
Sally's expression remained unchanged, but she was actually overjoyed. She composed herself and said, "You've all done a great job with the Magic Hand spell. Keep up the good work."
"Of course, it's very good that you achieved this result."
"In the initial comprehensive evaluation, the mastery of the Magic Hand is ranked second only to the improvement of mental energy and mental talent because it is related to the composition of the spell model."
Hearing Sally say that, Jasmine smiled.
Chris shrugged, seemingly unconcerned.
Leo's expression remained unchanged, his demeanor natural.
After the initial excitement, Sally regained her composure.
The path to becoming a wizard is long, and temporary advantages mean nothing.
Sally said, "The two-week course on the Hand of Magic has now concluded. You've also grasped the basics of spell models. Next, you just need to complete one more course before you can participate in the research lab."
"This course is about choosing a subject."
At this point, Sally glanced at Chris and said, "Chris, by now you must think you can definitely get the 100 magic stones for tuition, right?"
Upon hearing this, Chris said awkwardly, "Witch Sally, that's not what I meant."
"Jasmine," Sally said, turning to another girl, "you're probably also worried about whether you can get the 100 magic stones scholarship, right?"
Jasmine, the little chick, nodded as it pecked at the rice.
Sally said, "Actually, in order to motivate you young wizards who are just starting out to persevere, the scholarship requirements before entering the research lab are much more lenient."
"Once you enter the research lab, the difficulty of obtaining a scholarship increases significantly."
"Most wizard buddies can obtain a comprehensive evaluation score of around 10 to 50 points in the research lab."
"Among all the wizarding prodigies who have ranked in the top ten, there are many who have scored around 20 points in previous years."
Chris and Jasmine stared wide-eyed, surprised that even Leo could only get a score of 20 in this situation.
Suddenly, they found that the scoring criteria for the first month's comprehensive evaluation didn't seem so difficult.
Leo also raised an eyebrow slightly.
He hadn't expected that obtaining the magic stone would be so difficult.
"Most wizard buddies can only get a comprehensive score of about 5 to 10 points from the research lab each month."
"Therefore, although you have achieved some relatively good results, this is only the beginning... The upcoming laboratory evaluation will be even more challenging."
Seeing that Leo and the other two had become serious, Sally nodded to herself.
Sally then took out a piece of white paper and unfolded it.
The top is blank.
However, with a slight tap of Sally's fingertip, words began to appear on the white paper.
"This list records the disciplines for which our Tower of Dawn has research projects. You can choose one from among them. I can give you two suggestions on how to choose. One is to base it on your own interests, and the other is to consider the popularity of the discipline."
