Chapter 151 Same Question, Different Answers
Chapter 151 Same Question, Different Answers
Shen Yueling pushed open the villa door, bent down to change her shoes, and put them in the shoe cabinet.
The house was quiet. The living room lights were off, the curtains were half-drawn, and the light was dim.
Looking up, I saw Bai Xinran walking towards me from the direction of the room.
Bai Xinran pursed her lips, which were still slightly moist.
She paused for a moment when she saw Shen Yueling.
"Sister Yue Ling," Bai Xinran greeted.
Shen Yueling nodded, and a scent wafted over.
It was faint, yet very familiar.
She glanced towards the room; the door was ajar. She narrowed her eyes and said, "Go rinse your mouth."
Bai Xinran hummed in agreement, her throat bobbing, and then turned and walked towards the kitchen.
Shen Yueling threw her schoolbag on the sofa, walked to the door of her room, and pushed it open.
Yu Heng was standing by the bed tying his belt when he heard the noise. He turned around and saw Shen Yueling standing at the door.
"You're back?" Yu Heng said, his hands still busy buckling his belt.
"Hmm." Shen Yueling walked into the room, and the smell became even more pronounced.
She walked to the window and pulled the curtains open a little, letting in the afternoon light.
"Is everything done?" Yu Heng picked up his T-shirt from the bed and put it on.
"All done." Shen Yueling turned around, leaning against the windowsill, and looked at him. "Did you bully A-Ling again?"
Yu Heng walked over and stood in front of her: "What do you mean by bullying?"
"What do you think?" Shen Yueling looked up at him. "I smelled it as soon as I walked in."
Yu Heng smiled, placing his hands on the windowsills on either side of her, trapping her in his arms: "Jealous?"
"No." Shen Yueling turned her face away. "I just feel... you don't know when to stop."
"Not during the day?" Yu Heng leaned closer, his breath brushing against her ear. "Then you prefer the night?"
Shen Yueling neither dodged nor responded.
She wasn't actually jealous, she just felt that Yu Heng had gone a bit too far.
The way Ah Ling looked, it was obvious that he had just tormented her.
But she also knew that A-Ling was doing it willingly, and might even be more than willing to do so.
"She doesn't have classes?" Shen Yueling asked.
"No," Yu Heng said. "I've been busy switching platforms lately, so I've stopped streaming."
Bai Xinran came out of the kitchen and saw that Yu Heng and the other person were already in the living room.
Yu Heng sat on the sofa, and Shen Yueling sat sideways on his lap, her head resting on his shoulder.
"Shall I cook?" Bai Xinran said softly.
Yu Heng looked up at her and said, "Okay, go ahead, just make something simple."
Bai Xinran hummed in agreement and turned to go back into the kitchen.
Yu Heng placed his hand on Shen Yueling's waist, his fingers stroking the edge of her sweater hem.
He suddenly remembered He Mengyao's words about her childhood friend having an affair on the phone earlier that day, and suddenly said, "I have a question for you."
Shen Yueling turned her head and rested her chin on his shoulder: "What?"
"If we weren't like this now," Yu Heng paused, then continued, "still just childhood friends, what would you do after I get married?"
Shen Yueling didn't answer immediately, and after a few seconds she spoke: "Then let's just say we're still childhood friends."
"So, if I wanted to have an affair with you," Yu Heng continued, slipping his hand under the hem of her sweater, "would you agree?"
"I don't know," she murmured. "I certainly wouldn't now, but in the future... who knows?"
Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. He had blacked out that time. Could Shen Yueling have really done something?
However, Shen Yueling had a boyfriend at that time, so He Mengyao was probably just being paranoid.
Shen Yueling turned her head to look at him: "Why are you suddenly asking this?"
Her eyelashes were long, casting soft shadows in the afternoon light.
"No," Yu Heng said, his hand stroking her waist. "I was just suddenly curious."
"I can accept the current relationship," Shen Yueling said after a few seconds of silence, "but I definitely won't accept being a mistress."
"Why?" Yu Heng's hand stopped.
"If you get married, it'll be a clandestine affair, something that can't be brought into the light," Shen Yueling said. "I don't want that."
"What if she knew too?" Yu Heng added, "What if she didn't mind?"
Shen Yueling said, "That can't be true."
"Why?" Yu Heng narrowed his eyes.
"Because of inequality, she and you are legally involved," Shen Yueling continued. "She has a natural advantage. I am unprotected."
His wife can openly take his arm and go out with him, while he can only see her when she has time to see him.
In that kind of relationship, you are the weaker party and don't even have the right to be angry.
Unlike now, now she and Bai Xinran are equals, at least in Yu Heng's eyes.
A legitimate wife can rightfully criticize her and call her shameless.
And now, with her and Yu Heng in this situation, and Bai Xinran also present, no one has the right to criticize anyone; it's their own choice.
"But now, we're all equal." Shen Yueling paused, then murmured, "At least we're equal to you."
"I understand," Yu Heng said.
He didn't say anything else.
Shen Yueling didn't say anything more.
She felt that Yu Heng should understand.
He's so smart, he must understand.
After a while, Yu Heng pulled his hand out of her sweater and placed it on her thigh.
"Don't worry," Yu Heng whispered in her ear, "No matter what happens in the future, I will protect you."
"Okay," Shen Yueling responded, "You're not allowed to let us down."
She relaxed and leaned against him.
That concludes this topic.
She expressed her thoughts, and he received an answer.
Bai Xinran poked her head out from the kitchen: "Dinner's ready! Time to eat!"
-
After dinner, Shen Yueling stayed for a while and then left. She hadn't applied to stay overnight outside, so she still had to go back to her dormitory.
After washing the dishes, Bai Xinran walked to the sofa and sat down on the other side of Yu Heng.
Bai Xinran pulled her legs up, hugging her knees.
Her foot touched Yu Heng's leg, and Yu Heng reached out and grabbed her ankle.
"My feet are so cold," he said.
"I just washed the dishes with cold water," Bai Xinran said. "The hot water from our faucet is a bit slow."
Yu Heng tucked her feet into the hem of her hoodie and pressed them against her stomach.
Bai Xinran stiffened for a moment, then slowly relaxed.
"Are you feeling better?" she asked.
"Much better," Yu Heng said.
"Because of Sister Yue Ling?"
"Some of them." Yu Heng took her foot out of her clothes and held it in his hand.
Her feet were beautiful, delicate, and fair.
Many people have imperfections in their little toes, but hers didn't; her feet were like works of art.
"Ah Ling," he called out.
"Um?"
"If I ever get married," Yu Heng said, "what would you do?"
Bai Xinran pursed her lips and said softly, "Are you getting married?"
"I said if," Yu Heng said.
"I don't know," she said honestly. "I haven't thought about it."
"Thinking about it now," Yu Heng said.
"I'll be fine," she paused and said, "I just need to be obedient."
"obedient?"
"Okay," Bai Xinran said. "I'll do whatever you ask. If you don't want to see me after you get married, then I... won't see you."
"Why wouldn't I see you?" He hugged her tighter. "Even if we really get married, I'll make sure that person accepts you."
"But things will be different after you get married," Bai Xinran paused and said, "You won't be as free then. What if someone else finds out? Even if the person you marry accepts it, you'll still be under pressure."
Yu Heng narrowed his eyes, giving the same question but a different answer.
"Silly dog," Yu Heng stroked her head, "Let's sign the contract next month."
