Chapter 190 The Advantages of Men
Chapter 190 The Advantages of Men
Lin Yu was silent for a few seconds, then unconsciously traced a line on the sofa armrest with her fingertip.
"Why me?" She looked up. "Whether it's models or video shooters... there are probably many people with better qualifications than me."
"Because you're so outstanding," Yu Heng replied naturally. "Otherwise, why do you think I would have approached you and asked you to become a live streamer when we met at school? From the first glance, I felt that you were suited for this job. Your face, figure, and temperament are all excellent."
Lin Yu pursed her lips. Was this a compliment? But it sounded a little strange.
"I have a feeling," she paused, her voice lowering, "that you're taking revenge."
Yu Heng narrowed his eyes and looked at her: "What do you mean?"
"Because I talked back to you before," Lin Yu recalled their chance encounter at school, "I said that a woman shouldn't be in a hurry to show off her good looks."
"Haha," Yu Heng laughed, "It's not really revenge. When I approached you, it was because I thought you had potential and could make money. And now you need to cash in, that's a fact. What you said at the end was a bit of teasing and mockery."
He paused, then his gaze naturally swept downwards.
"There's one more thing," Yu Heng's tone remained unchanged, "You may not even know it yourself, or you haven't taken it seriously, but such a perfect and beautiful little butterfly is very rare. Who wouldn't be tempted? Of course I would want one too."
Lin Yu's breath hitched for a moment. When he uttered that word, there was no flirtatious teasing; it was spoken in a frank and serious tone.
Strangely, this lessened the feeling of being offended, and she wasn't angry at all. Instead, she said jokingly, "That night, it belongs to someone else now."
"It's not too late," Yu Heng pursed his lips, "Let's see whose first time it was?"
When the conversation gets this direct, feelings of anger and shyness usually disappear. Lin Yu snorted softly, "Anyway, it won't be yours."
"Don't rush," Yu Heng smiled, pursing his lips, "the game has only just begun."
"Do you really enjoy taking things from others?" She looked at him, her tone slightly sarcastic.
Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "Are you an object?"
Lin Yu was speechless.
"Don't objectify yourself," Yu Heng smiled. "I'm saying, in the end, your choice will be me."
"You're really confident." Lin Yu smirked. "You're nowhere near as good as him."
"That depends on what we're comparing," Yu Heng shrugged nonchalantly. "Is it comparing who can make you more money? Who can solve your family's financial problems? Or who can help you..."
"Stop talking," Lin Yu interrupted him, "I would never like someone for something like this."
"What is that?" Yu Heng narrowed his eyes. "Because of what you call being good to you? Being considerate and caring? These are basic things that someone who loves you does, not virtues. If you loved him, you would treat him the same way, wouldn't you?"
"Heh," Lin Yu chuckled, "Then tell me, what are the good qualities of a man?"
"It's the ability to solve problems," Yu Heng said, looking at her. "Being able to solve problems is a strength, not just knowing what to do when something goes wrong."
Upon hearing this, Lin Yu felt a pang of emotion and realized that what he said made sense.
But that only lasted a moment before he scoffed, "You're quite the talker. He's just a student; how do you expect him to solve problems?"
Yu Heng smiled but didn't respond.
His gaze lingered on her for a moment, then he changed the subject: "But I've noticed you're much more relaxed now."
Lin Yu was taken aback upon hearing this, and looked down at herself.
This pose is so casual, it's like he's actually wearing clothes.
Her ears suddenly burned, and she quickly brought her legs together: "If I'm nervous, you'll say I'm unnatural again. It's just to finish filming quickly."
"It's all filmed now," Yu Heng leaned back. "You weren't as hesitant as before."
Lin Yu bit her lower lip, her voice cold: "Can you please stop talking like that?"
"What?"
"You're deliberately teasing me."
"That might not work," Yu Heng said, pursing his lips. "I have a rather quirky sense of humor."
Lin Yu rolled her eyes at him, turned her face away, and remained silent.
"So what should I say about my suggestion?" Yu Heng asked, looking at her. "Do you want to do it?"
"I need to think about it," Lin Yu said without turning around, her voice slightly muffled. "What about the contract?"
"I can send you the electronic version to your email. Just print it out and sign it," Yu Heng said. "No rush. You can take it home and look at it at your leisure, or consult a lawyer."
These words were spoken so generously that they eased Lin Yu's doubts a little.
She turned her head and met his gaze: "You really think I can become famous?"
"The probability is very high." Yu Heng's tone was pragmatic. "Your hardware is there; what you lack is exposure and content. The 'Soul Pawnshop' account model has already been tested and proven; replicating it is much easier than starting from scratch."
"What exactly do I need to do?" she asked.
"The initial phase mainly involves training and getting used to the camera. You've seen the short video style of 'Soul Pawnshop,' so you need to practice developing that sense of control. We might also try live streaming and interacting with the audience. I'll plan the specific content, and you'll execute it." Yu Heng glanced at the time. "Of course, your current modeling shoots will continue as usual; that's another source of income, and the two sources of revenue don't conflict."
"Training...how?Where?" Lin Yu noticed the key question.
More frequent interaction was part of what he called the game.
"It'll be right here, or somewhere else I rent. The time will mainly be during your free time and weekends," Yu Heng continued. "Don't worry, it's all normal work schedule. I'll arrange a timetable for you."
Lin Yu repeated these words to herself: "Normal work arrangements."
He cloaked everything that might be ambiguous in the guise of work, making it difficult for her to find a position to vehemently oppose it.
What are you objecting to? Are you objecting to bosses assigning work to employees?
Thinking about this, Lin Yu felt like she was dancing on the edge of a knife.
Knowing full well what he wanted to do, he still openly stated it, and I didn't even feel that much aversion or resistance.
She felt that as long as he was firm in his attitude and kept his word, it would truly be a simple working relationship.
"The penalty for breach of contract starts at 200,000 yuan, which is too high." She tried to secure some protection for herself.
"Only with a high level of cooperation can we both take this collaboration seriously." Yu Heng remained unmoved. "My investment will be substantial. If you become famous and then sign with another company, wouldn't all my efforts be wasted? Of course, if you continue to cooperate, whether the contract is renewed upon expiration or terminated amicably, this penalty fee will forever remain just a number on paper."
"I'll consider it," she said finally.
"Okay," Yu Heng began tidying up the cameras and equipment on the coffee table. "Just give me an answer before the next shoot."
"That's about enough for today." Yu Heng stood up. "Go get dressed."
