Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 132 : 4 More ranks

Chapter 132 : 4 More ranks

The dragon's gaze intensified as it absorbed my words. "So I don't belong here," I repeated, grasping the gravity of his statement. Before I could formulate another question, the dragon spoke again with firm determination.

"I won't tell you what lies beyond the seal, lad," he said with a grave voice. "Sometimes, having too much information can be more harmful than beneficial, especially if you lack the strength to defend yourself."

His words echoed in my mind, making it clear that there were boundaries not to be crossed. Accepting that truth meant facing uncertainty and vulnerability, but also acknowledging the importance of wisdom and caution in a world full of unknown dangers. With a mix of resignation, I silently nodded.

I abruptly closed my mouth, assimilating the dragon's response. Though I felt a slight disappointment at his refusal to reveal more about the seal, I understood the logic behind his words. After a few moments of reflection, I decided to change the subject and ask another question.

"What is the system?" I inquired, curious to learn more about this mysterious artifact in my possession.

The dragon seemed to consider the question for a moment before responding. "That artifact wasn't created by me," he began, "it was created by another dragon. As you may know, the system informed you that it had a lifespan, did it not?"

I nodded, recalling the system's warnings about its eventual expiration. The revelation that this system had a dragon origin and was subject to temporal limitations added an additional layer of intrigue to the puzzle we were unraveling. My mind began to spin with new questions and potential implications as I awaited the dragon's continuation of the explanation.

"I'm aware of that, but I don't know what it means," I replied with confusion, trying to grasp.

Nyx's words resonated in the air, filling me with awe and questions. What did it mean to have ten wings? Was that being a god among dragons? The idea that there were higher levels of divinity intrigued me and, at the same time, unsettled me.

"Are there more ranks above divinity?" I asked, releasing my curiosity and anxiety to better understand the world I found myself in.

"There are, but I won't tell you now," Nyx responded lazily. "I can only tell you that there are four more ranks beyond divinity."

The revelation that there were four additional levels beyond divinity left me stunned. The idea that there were beings that surpassed even the highest rank of the empire, the sacred rank, was shocking and, in a sense, terrifying.

I remembered that no one in the history of the empire had reached the divine rank, and I considered the implications of the dangers that lurked beyond the wall that protected our borders. Unknown monsters and indescribable threats awaited beyond the seal, and I shuddered at the thought of what might exist in realms beyond our understanding.

After managing to calm my mind, I turned my gaze back to the dragon, reflecting on the new information I had just received. Could it be that my bloodline's reaction to other people was influenced by the blood I shared with Nyx?

"So, is it your fault that my bloodline can influence other people?" I asked the dragon.

The dragon, with closed eyes and the little fairy asleep on his nose, seemed to take a moment to process my question.

"That's correct," the dragon responded calmly, "since you have my blood running through your veins, that generates a connection with other nearby dragons or people you consider important. After all, dragons are obsessive about their things. Before, the connection was very weak, but now that you have awakened, your bloodline will be much stronger."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
