Chapter 15 Clearing the Goblin Lair
Chapter 15 Clearing the Goblin Lair
The outer edge of the Misty Forest.
Lin Er stepped across the overgrown road and entered the depths of the forest.
Led by Flora, who stood at the forefront with a bow and arrow in hand, they scouted the area as they headed towards the goblin's lair.
As they ventured deeper, the bushes and shrubs grew taller, and a light mist enveloped them, creating a secluded and mysterious primeval forest.
Lin Er pushed aside the thorns in front of him and could barely see the surroundings forty meters away.
The environment here is truly complex, making it an excellent habitat for all sorts of wild beasts and monsters.
Flora walked in front; she was truly a daughter of nature, always managing to find the tricky paths without getting lost, whereas anyone else would have been lost long ago.
Not only that, Flora left subtle marks along the way she came, showing exceptional care.
She is indeed a reliable teammate.
Lin Er turned to look at Luna and Gareth, who, relying on their knightly armor, charged ahead, cutting through thorns and brambles, carving a path through the thicket.
As expected of a paladin, he overcame skill with brute force.
Lin Er had no opportunity to make a move and silently followed behind them.
After walking for a while, the number of thorns decreased sharply, and the view became more open.
Lin Er noticed that there were many footprints on the ground, as well as animal droppings.
He gripped the bamboo sword tightly, carefully observing his surroundings in case of any sudden danger emerging from the mist.
At this moment, Flora, who was at the very front, suddenly stopped and said:
"We've reached the vicinity of the nest."
Upon hearing this, Lin Er looked into the mist and saw a small mountain looming in and out of sight, covered with bushes and weeds, but there was no trace of goblins.
But upon closer inspection, a hole was discovered hidden among the weeds.
So this is where the goblin's lair is located. It's really well hidden. I wonder how the guild found it.
Gareth drew his armored sword, full of fighting spirit, and said, "Now that we've found the goblin's lair, let's just charge in and wipe them all out."
Flora shook her head and said, "Our goal is to kill all the goblins. If we attack without investigating, some might escape."
Gareth immediately sheathed his sword and said, "Miss Flora, I'll do whatever you say."
Flora did not answer immediately, but turned to look at Lin Er.
With a serious expression, she asked, "Lin Er, what do you think we should do?"
Lin Er thought to himself that this was also his first time experiencing something like this, and he didn't have much experience with adventures at all, so what good ideas could he possibly have?
However, since Flora had come to ask for his opinion in this way, he considered it and said:
"Goblins usually come in groups. They haven't spotted us yet. I suggest we just charge in and wipe them all out, just in case anything goes wrong."
Flora nodded thoughtfully and said:
"This method is excellent, what do you think?"
She looked at Luna and Gareth, seeking their opinions.
Luna nodded and said, "I'll listen to Flora."
Gareth looked as if he had swallowed a fly; he was the one who first made the suggestion, but it had been rejected.
Lin Er has simply changed his wording, but Flora's attitude is completely different.
However, since Flora had already made her decision, he had no choice but to agree.
The four men, armed with weapons, approached the cave.
Before they could even get close, a large group of green-skinned, ugly goblins poured out of their lair. They were armed with short spears, dressed in tattered rags, and looked ferocious.
It turned out that the goblins had already spotted Lin'er and his group's arrival and were ready for battle.
Flora was the first to react. With quick reflexes, she drew her bowstring taut and fired three arrows in quick succession.
A scream rang out from among the goblins. Three goblins clutched their necks and chests, green blood flowing freely, and collapsed to the ground in agony.
Good arrow.
Seeing this, Lin Er couldn't help but praise him. He then drew his bamboo sword and slowly approached the goblin.
Ahead of him, Luna and Gareth moved even faster, the two siblings wielding swords and shields as they plunged into the goblins.
As you can see, their swordsmanship is extremely skilled, they support each other, and they are not afraid of ordinary goblins at all.
Especially that knight's armor; even with the slightest mistake, it wouldn't be able to harm him with the goblin's short spear.
Almost every time they drew their swords, a goblin would be killed. At this rate, there wouldn't be enough goblins for the brother and sister to kill.
At this moment, a few special creatures appeared among the goblins. They were taller than ordinary goblins, and their skin was green with a yellowish-brown tinge.
The goblins, wielding metal spears, lunged at Luna and Gareth.
The two siblings reacted quickly, parrying and dodging. With a clang, sparks flew everywhere.
These goblins are probably the Tier 1 goblins mentioned in the intelligence report.
Lin Er was secretly alarmed.
Before he could even worry about the siblings, a level 1 goblin and four ordinary goblins had already attacked.
Lin Er dodged the first-tier goblin's thrust by sidestepping. He sensed that the opponent wasn't very fast and could be defeated with swordsmanship.
However, he didn't dare to be careless. He prepared his protective technique and flashed forward.
At that moment, two ordinary goblins, one on each side, thrust forward with short spears.
He reacted extremely quickly, wielding his bamboo sword and slashing at the nearest goblin.
The Pure Heart Bamboo Sword is a magical artifact; its material is as hard as refined iron and extremely sharp.
With a soft splatter, green blood splattered out.
A goblin crashed to the ground, its body sliced in two.
Lin Er didn't have time to check if it was dead or alive. Dodging the second goblin's attack, he seized the opportunity and slashed with his sword again.
The second goblin was also cut in half at the waist and fell to the ground, its blood splattering everywhere.
Lin Er's heart was beating very fast, even faster than when he was chased by a bear last time.
He had completely forgotten the Pure Yang Sword Technique he had mastered, and hadn't been able to execute a single sword routine.
But he discovered a raging fire in his dantian, like the blazing sun in the sky, a pure yang fire. No evil thoughts or distractions could shake his will. This was a feeling he had never experienced before when practicing the Pure Yang Sword Technique a few days ago.
The Pure Yang Sword Technique should be like this.
His swordsmanship has improved again.
This comes from the experience gained in real combat.
Lin Er's eyes burned with fury. When he looked at the remaining two ordinary goblins, the ferocity and cruelty on their faces had vanished, leaving only fear and dread.
These goblins were indeed evil spirits, like stinking rats in a sewer, trembling at the sight of pure yang energy.
Lin Er didn't even make a move, but they were so frightened that they took several steps back, afraid of being hacked to death.
Lin Er ignored the ordinary goblins and looked up at the first-tier goblin.
Now there's nothing in his way between him and that goblin.
He took the initiative to walk over.
A flash of sword light.
An ugly head flew off, trailing blood.
